Апстракт:
In this study we investigated the modification of the structure of polyethileneterephtalate (PET) membrane exposed to 100 keV N5+ ions with fluences varying from 1014 to 1016 cm-2. The changes in the properties of unirradiated and ion-beam modified samples of PET track membrane were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and ultraviolet–visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopies. Infrared transmission spectra show that during the implantation process the structures were partly modified. FTIR spectrum also shows the change in intensity of the typical bands after irradiation of the polymers. The variation in the band intensity shows the breakage of a few bonds in the structure. The obtained optical results showed that the increase of ion irradiation fluence induced decrease in the transmittance of the PET membrane. The values of energy band gap decreases with increase of the fluence as well.
