Апстракт:
The use of nanotechnology and nanomaterials in orthodontics aims to improve the effects of fixed orthodontic appliances, increase the control of therapy and significantly reduce the negative effects of therapy on the stomatognathic system. In addition to improving the properties of orthodontic adhesive materials and orthodontic arches, nanoparticles in orthodontics are applied with the aim to improve properties of orthodontic brackets. Nanoparticles can be used to control adherence of microorganisms to brackets, to reduce friction during a therapy, and to increase corrosion resistance of metal brackets. The development of smart brackets with nano-mechanical sensors for controlled application of force, predictability of tooth movement and reducing unwanted tooth movement is also one of the goals of nanotechnology in orthodontics.
